Meet Shrek! May 13-14, 2011

Shrek was here in Lubbock! National Travel brought Shrek to visit kids in our local area hospitals. The public was able to come meet him on Saturday, May 14, in our lobby. Thank you to everyone who visited and bought a hot dog lunch — a portion of the proceeds will go to our local area hospitals to help kids.

You still have a chance to meet Shrek! Ask one of our friendly consultants about Royal Caribbean's DreamWorks Experience. These special cruises feature your favorite characters from DreamWorks movies touring the ship for one-on-one meetings and character parades. Click here for more information.

Mudflap's Race to 50 April 2011

The Mupflap Race to 50 contest is now closed! Keep listening to KLLL for Mudflap's progress through all 48 continental states, and to find out the winner of our free trip to Alaska or Hawaii!

PRESS RELEASE

Children's Advocacy Center Unites Entire Community to Stand up for Kids

LUBBOCK – The Children's Advocacy Center of the South Plains invites the entire community to join together to Stand up for Kids on Saturday, April 2 from 12:00 to 2 p.m. at Leroy Elmore Park located inside the Loop at South Loop 289 at Quaker.

April is Child Abuse Prevention month and this event is meant to focus attention to the overwhelming number of children who are abused each day in Lubbock and surrounding communities. The Lubbock area has more than twice the number of reported cases of child abuse than state of Texas average per capita.

There will be entertainment, free food and a public awareness event where participants are asked to hold a sign containing the vital information of a child served by the CAC in the past year. Each person who holds a sign will automatically be entered in a free drawing to win a free cruise from National Travel.

The event is sponsored by Suddenlink and National Travel.
